When should I expect my delivery if I’m in Australia?
We normally need 1-3 business days to process your order, then it will be shipped.
If you opted for free shipping which is regular post, it will normally take 3-5 business days to get to you depending where you are in Australia.
Please keep in mind that once the parcel leaves our warehouse we don’t have any control over when it will arrive. Some times it's super punctual and other times it can be delayed.
You’ll be sent an email with your tracking number once your order has been shipped so you can keep tabs on its whereabouts.
What happens if my parcel is delayed?
We work hard to get your parcel to you quickly, but because we ship with third party carriers once it’s with the courier it is out of our hands.
So we just need to wait. How ever we rarely experience any significant delays.
What do I do if I need my halo urgently?
If you’re on a tight deadline for a special event and you need your halo stat, we recommend selecting express postage and allowing at least 3-5 business days prior to the event to be on the safe side.
When should I expect my delivery if I’m I’m not in Australia?

How do Exchanges work?
You can exchange your halo within 90 days of purchasing. But only if it meets the Exchanges criteria.
This means your halo has not been tampered with, worn or taken out of its protective net. It needs to be in an un-used condition and sent with all original packaging and accessories. You can take your Sitting Pretty halo out of it’s plastic sleeve to check that the colour matches, however we can't accept it back if it has been:
- Wet / Washed
- Cut or Trimmed
- Styled in any way
- Removed from the protective net
- Coloured / Toned
- Worn (you can check the colour matches but if it has been worn we can't accept it back)
If none of the above apply to you and you want to Exchange it then get in touch so we can organise your Exchange
Once we have received your halo, we’ll inspect all items before anything is issued. We reserve the right to deny Exchanges if items are not sent in their original condition. If an Exchange is denied your halo will be returned back to you.
We’ll let you know by email if your item has been accepted for Exchange.
The cost of sending an item is at the customer’s expense and is non-refundable. We recommend using a tracking system to help make sure your items don’t go missing, as we cannot process Exchanges on items we have never received. You can ask for proof of postage at the time you post the item.

As the hair extensions industry grows, larger companies are resorting to using low quality hair in order to supply the growing demand. The problem with this is that the hair has a very short lifespan, so you end up repurchasing more frequently and spending more money in the long run. Which is neither ethical or sustainable.

Will the wire break? What happens if it does?
The Sitting Pretty wire is designed to hold up to 5kg of weight, so no, it shouldn’t break. We include 7 different wire sizes, so if one’s not fitting quite right, you can change to another size rather than putting 10kg of pressure on your halo. In the rare case it does break, simply change to one of the other wires or contact us for a replacement.
Otherwise, if you’re good with your hands and happen to have a bunch of fishing equipment handy, you can have a go at re-tying some wire to your halo hooks.
Will I feel it? Is it heavy or uncomfortable?
Our halos are non-invasive or damaging, so you’ll feel almost as natural as if it was your own hair. Though wearing it is a new sensation, so yes, you might feel a little odd. But that sensation will pass in 10-15 minutes. And you’ll become more used to it and comfortable with it over time.
How does your halo stay on? I’m worried it will fall off.
No, your halo won’t fall off when worn properly. Because of the angle it sits on your head, our halo will fit securely on your. It might feel a bit unusual in the beginning but you’ll start to feel more comfortable the more you wear it, and the more times you check yourself out in the mirror, phone, or reflection of the shop window.
What is the string made of?
Our halos come with 7 different nylon wires in different sizes so you’ll be able to find the one that’s right for your head shape & personal preference.
Our nylon wires are made of industry grade nylon, similar to fishing wire. Amazingly, it can hold up to 5kg of weight without breaking or changing shape, which is great considering our heaviest halo is only 0.16kg – and you’re not planning on fishing with it.
Will my halo need clips to stop it from moving? Does it come with clips?
When positioned correctly: no, your halo won’t need clips and yes, it will sit securely - unless you plan on back-flipping and cartwheeling. In which case, you’ll need to adjust your halo, along with everything else because you just backflipped.
Confidence comes with time; the more you wear it, the more you’ll get used to it. Remember, our extensions are designed to be non-invasive – unlike permanent extensions. We don’t use clips or anything that will get stuck in your hair, as they only cause more damage to your hair over time. Because that’s the kind of drama nobody (or hair-do) needs.
At Sitting Pretty, we advocate for healthy hair and we work to give you amazing hair, without damaging your own locks. Or the need for 3 hours and 30 products in front of a mirror. Ain’t nobody got time for that.
Is it natural, human hair? Can I treat it like my own hair with hot styling tools?
The Sitting Pretty halo is alllllllllllll natural, babe. Seriously though, yes, all our extensions are made from European Textured 100% Remy human hair. This means it’s soft, long-lasting, and realistic. It also means you can treat it like your own hair and treat it with hot styling tools.
Can you wash your hair whilst wearing your halo? Or do you take them off?
It’s much easier to wash your halo by hand instead of by head.
To Wash:
Simply fold your halo in half at the top of the lace, gently brushing before wetting it. Then soak your halo in cold water, making sure all of the hair is submerged. Using the Sitting Pretty Shampoo, gently lather in a downward motion to avoid tangling, then give it a rinse. Though you might find that you need to rinse it twice, depending on how dirty it is.
Next, apply your Sitting Pretty Conditioner, leaving in for 5 minutes. Rinse thoroughly until no product is left in the hair. Then wring out any excess water, leaving your halo to air dry naturally, hanging from a coat hanger. Once dry, they’ll have a natural wave, so style as smooth and straight or as bouncy and curly as you like.
If you’re in a hurry, our halo can be dried using a hair dryer (on a low-heat setting), but this will make you halo a little fluffy’er. Which is why we advise letting them dry naturally.
Do they need to be cut and blended before I wear them?
In most cases, yes. Your halo will arrive either 16 or 20 inches long (depending on which one you choose) which is just that: long. Most girls’ hair is around 12-16. They’re also cut on a straight line, so you’ll need to trim your halo to match your own hair’s length and layers. Fresh out of the packet, your halo will also seem thinner than it actually is. But just like your own hair, your halo will become thicker when trimmed shorter and exposed to water. So, all round: good signs for cutting it.
Does the hair shed or fall out?
Unlike your fluffy pet or your vintage-inspired shaggy rug, no our halos don’t shed. The quality stitching of our wefts means our halo hair is pretty damn secure, even after washing and styling. With the exception of a few stray hairs.
Will my halo be ready to wear when it arrives?
If your hair ends are super thin, potentially. It could blend well and be ready to work, work, work, work, work - Rihanna style.
Most of the time though, you’ll need to give it a little TLC so it can naturally blend in with your own hair. Otherwise, it can stand out like a sore, obvious thumb. This is the case with most hair extension types; before they’re ready to paint the town blonde, red, or brunette, they need a little love and some customisation to make them a little more you’er.
Our extensions are 16 and 20 inches long, so naturally, you’re going to need a little trim to get a realistic match with your own length and layers. So, if you’re sporting short hair or beachy waves, don’t expect 20 inches of dead straight hair to work in your favour. You can read more about how to get your halo ready here.
I have really thick hair. Will your halo work for me?
A bit of yes, a bit of no. It depends on two things: how thick your hair is and how long you want your halo to be.
For example, if you’re rocking thick, should-length hair with a blunt cut, then wearing our thickest halo 10 inches longer than your own hair won’t fly. But, if you’re looking at a halo 3- 4 inches longer than your own length, adding a few cut layers to blend, then you should be fine.
If you’re unsure, send through 2-3 photos of your current hair, from root to end, and we’ll be able to recommend which of our halos could work best for your hair. Or otherwise, explain why not.
I have really thin hair. Will it work for me?
Our halos were made for you. Literally. They work best on girls with thin hair, as finer ends tend to blend better with our Halo ends, creating a much more natural look.
They sit quite low on your head, too, so you can pull plenty of your own hair over the band to cover it. So even if you’re worried about your fine hair not quite covering enough, know it’s pretty rare. Like having Justin Timberlake write a song about you rare.

Can I wear a halo if I have blunt ends?
Using any extensions when your haircut is on the blunt side of life is tricky. But there are a few things you can do if you’re determined:
.a) Thin out your blunt ends to create a feathered effect to sit over your halo for better blending.
.b) Create blunt layers into your halo to help with the blending.
.c) Pull a thin layer of your own hair over your halo, just enough to cover the band.
.d) Style your hair and halo with waves to hide scatter the blunt ends.
What if my head is too big or too small? And it doesn’t fit?
Each halo comes with seven wire sizes: XXS, XS, S, M, L, XL, XXL. So, all you need to do is pick the wire that best fits your head, just like finding a new pair of pumps. How do I adjust my halo wire to fit my own head?
Simply detach the wire that’s on your halo now, then play around with the different wire sizes to find the one that suits you best. If only dating was that easy. FYI: your Halo will arrive on the Small wire. Hopefully, your date doesn’t though.
Can I adjust my halo manually if the other wires don’t fit me properly?
Yes, you can. All you need are some simple knot tying skills. Start with some high-quality (and most definitely unused) fishing wire, which you can find at your local hardware or $2 stores. Then measure how much small’er or big’er the wire should be.
Next, cut off the wires from the two halo hooks and retie your new piece of wire, making it slightly big’er or slightly small’er than the one that didn’t work, typically around half a centimetre. Finish with a triple knot on each side to secure it. This might take you a few tries, but remember, you’ve got dis.
How do I know if my halo is sitting in the right spot?

The rundown: you want the wire to sit one inch back from your hairline, whilst your halo hair part of the wire should fit nicely under your occipital bone, with the top sides of your halo sitting just above your ears. Play around with the different wire sizes until you find the perfect fit, Cinderella style.
What do I do if it feels like it’s not on properly?
Firstly, make sure you’re using the right wire size. Not sure? Follow these few steps and you’ll be on your way to a halo that’s secure and comfortable, not tight or loose, and dream hair that’s IRL.
Holding your halo wire about one inch back from your hairline, push your halo hair part down the back of your head so it sits nice and snug under your occipital bone. The sides of your halo should be sitting just above your ears. Adjust the wire, moving back and forth from your hairline, to make it tighter or looser. As you do this, the sides should stay right above your ears, otherwise it won’t stay in place. Still NQR? Test another wire until you find the right one. Then hallelujah, you’re halo done.
What is an occipital bone?
It’s the bone that sticks out at the back and bottom of your skull, just above your neck. It’s the part that rests over the hairdressers’ wash basin when you’re getting your hair did, and the part that will help hold your halo in place.
What if I don’t have a prominent occipital bone?
On the rare chance that you don’t have an obvious occipital bone: no drama. The only difference is that it may feel a little different, but it will work just the same.
What if my halo looks too thin to blend with my own hair?
When your halo first arrives, it’ll look straight and thin AF. That’s because it’s been chemically straightened. But just like your own hair, once you wet (not wash) it and let it dry, it’ll expand significantly, becoming 2-3 times thicker, giving you plenty of room to cut some layers into it to match your own. The result is a natural, full’er, you’er you.
Can I keep my halo hair extensions really long if my hair is short?
Yes... But we don’t recommend, as it can look unnatural and a tad funny. The bigger the difference between your hair and your halo’s length, the more you’ll need to do with styling, waving, and layering to make it blend. It’s best to go with a realistic length in comparison to your own hair.
Can I keep my halo really long if my hair is thick?
We’d say it’s less than ideal. If you’re after length, it’s best to cut your halo one to two inches longer than your own hair. Otherwise, your halo goes from natural and amazing, to “What on earth is going on with that chick’s hair?”. Get yourself our THICK halo, layering the ends, for best results.
Can I keep my halo really long if my hair is thin?
Yes, you can. Our halos were born created especially for thin hair heads. Thin ends actually blend in really well with our halo, helping it look even more natural’er, blendy’er, and beautiful’er. And you, you’er.
Can I wear my halo if I have a side part?

What’s the difference between your FINE, MEDIUM, and THICK halos?
This refers to their different thicknesses, which is based on the amount of hair attached. We realised there were so many different hair types and goals out there, so we created these three weights to accommodate.
For example, not everyone wants long hair so our FINE option, which is 60 grams, is designed to add volume, not length. Whereas, for the girl with thick hair that wants it longer, they’d need our THICK halo, to help balance out the ratio of hair from top to bottom.

Are your halos single drawn or double drawn?
Our halos are single drawn. There’s no difference in quality between the two. The only difference is that double drawn is thicker.
We used to offer double drawn halos, but we found, as did our customers, they didn’t blend as well and they didn’t look as natural. We realised our customers ended up trimming them anyway, making them unnecessary and wasteful. So, we looked at single drawn and found they worked much better’er and looked much more natural’er. So that’s where we are now: single and ready to mingle/blend.
How do I know what colour is right for me? Can you help if I send a photo?
100%. Send us 2-3 photos of the hair you’re trying to match under good lighting—though not direct sunlight—capturing the full length of your hair, including your roots and ends. From that we’ll be able to let you know your best match. The colour kind, not the swipe right kind; that’s up to your other friends.
If you’re confident picking out your own colour, just remember to go for the colour on your ends; it’s the part you want to blend with your halo so it makes sense for those colours to match. Otherwise, awks. And if you get it wrong, no drama. We offer free exchanges on unused halos within 90 days, so you can be sure you’ll find your halo soul mate one way or another.
How can I check that it matches my hair colour properly?
Fresh from its plastic sleeve, hold your halo underneath the ends of your natural hair. It’s going to sit underneath the bottom section of your hair, so all you need to do is make sure your ends will blend with the colour of your halo.
If you’re a shade or two different, no drama; it won’t be noticeable. Thanks to our multi- strand colouring system, once sitting underneath your own hair, cut and styled, your halo will blend seamlessly with your own hair.

Can I colour my halo?
We only recommend toning your halo one or two shades darker, never lighter (no bleaching). Although the hair is premium quality remy hair each halo will be different as it comes from a different person. They go through a series of chemical processes to get them to the colour and quality they are when you receive them, and so colouring them after this doesn't always warrant consistent results. Sitting Pretty can't take responsibility for issues caused by coloured halos.
I have two colours in my hair. Will your halo blend?
Two colours? No problems. For best blending results, we recommend you match your halo to the lighter of the two colours. Otherwise, we also offer a few two-toned halos options, which are ideal for those with foils. Alternatively, ask your hairdresser to add some lowlights into your halo to emulate your natural hair.

I have ombre/balayage. Do you offer something that will work with my hair?
Currently, we don’t have any balayage halo colours, though our future may change that. If you’re looking for a halo to match your balayage or ombre, best to match it to the lighter colour on your ends. If you’d prefer the top of your halo to be darker, simply get your hairdresser to paint balayage onto your halo’s “roots”. A lot of our balayage and ombre beauties do it this way.
Can I use purple or blue shampoo on my halo?
Yes, but we recommend with supervision, to make sure you watch the colour changes. Otherwise, it could overtone and go blue’er, silver’er, or grey’er than you were aiming for.
Hair extension strands are more porous than your natural locks, so they absorb colours and toners faster and easily’er.
I use blue shampoo on the reg’. Do I need to wash my halo with blue shampoo every time I wash my own hair?
No, because you don’t need to wash your halo every time you wash your own hair. Also, your halo absorbs and holds colour more’er than your natural hair, so it won’t need as much colour maintenance. Simply pay attention to your halo’s colour to see when it needs an update.
What’s better to use on my halo? Blue / Purple shampoo, or toner?
You can use either with our halos.
If you’re going to use professional toners, make sure your halo is wet (not washed) before applying. This will help the toner glide on for a more even result.
Some professional toner and blue shampoo brands work better than others, so do your research. If you’re unsure, you can always ask us. We’re just one Sitting Pretty email away.
Will the colour of my halo fade?
All extensions are susceptible to colour fading over time, but it’s not a drastic change - unlike you after four espresso martinis. If fading, it’s more of a sign your halo is getting a little old and needs replacing for a newer, hotter model. Generally, this happens around the 12-month mark. If you’re worried and want a colour top up, you can with a bit of toner.
How often do I need to wash my halo?
You’ll be happy to know: not very often. Best to not wash it often as you can dry out the hair. Most of our customers wash their halo once every 3-4 months. The ‘not very often’ is because, unlike other extension types which are stuck in your hair permanently, halos don’t get very dirty because they’re not exposed as often.
Though, naturally, that time frame depends on how often you’re wearing your halo and how many products you apply(best not to apply products apart from heat protector). For example, using more product means things like dust will more readily stick to your hair, making it dirty’er, quicker.
But do keep in mind that every time you wash your halo, you strip the soft coating that’s protecting your hair and keeping it soft. That’s why it’s best to wash your halo using the Sitting Pretty Shampoo and Conditioner, which is specially formulated to keep the soft silicon coating on for longer.
As a general rule: the more you do to it, the more you’ll need to wash it. Or replace it.
My halo keeps getting knotty underneath. How come and what do I do?
Your halo might be getting its knickers in a knot over a few things, likely friction. This could be caused because it is rubbing against something, such as jewellery or clothing. It could also be the shape of your neck and the angle your halo is sitting on. Or you could just be a hot babe, literally; bodies that overheat can cause friction with your hair, too.
Now the good part. To prevent this from happening, brush and straighten the area that’s getting hit the most, then add a small amount of serum to prevent further rubbing and knotting. Also, storing your halo incorrectly: bad. But, brushing regularly: good. How you’re going to look wearing your cared for halo: good’er.
What do I do if my halo feels strange after I wash it?
The first thing this could be is that you haven’t rinsed it properly and there’s still shampoo or conditioner residue left in your halo. They do require a very good rinse to ensure all the product is washed out before you let it dry. We usually recommend after you rinse it by tap that you do emerge your halo in water (a large bowl is good for this) and keep dunking it in the water swishing it around so any suds stuck in your halo can be rinsed away. Repeat this a couple of times until the water in the bowl is clear of suds.
Second thing, make sure you condition your halo and let it sit for 5 minutes only (not over night). Rinse thoroughly. Don’t put coconut oil into your halo or any other products (apart from heat protector), the hair has been heavily processed so it doesn’t have the same effect as it does on your natural hair.
Third thing, Be careful what products you use on your halo to wash it, we only recommend Sitting Pretty products, as shampoos for problematic hair can have an unwanted effect on the hair of your halo. Also don’t wash your halo while it’s knotty, always gently brush it first so the hair can dry tangle free.
