Here's the thing with any hair extensions.
They need to look 100% realistic.
After all, that's the goal right?
To make your hair look like it has more natural thickness and more natural length than your mumma gave you.
Getting it right, means finding the perfect hair extensions colour for your hair.
So that when your extensions are cut and styled, it's absolutely fool-proof.
This is your step by step guide on how to choose the perfect colour Sitting Pretty Halo for longer, thicker hair that looks natural.
If you've got darker roots, no stress.
Because your hair sits on top of the halo, it'll blend just fine.
Another option, which girls with dark roots or ombré hair tend to go for, is getting their hairdresser to tone the roots of their halo so it matches their natural regrowth.
While it's not necessary, it's something you might want to do if you're blonde with dark brown roots, for example.

If you're in between two colours, it's always best to opt for the lighter colour.
This is because if your halo arrives and it's slightly too light, you can easily tone your halo darker but you can't bleach a dark coloured halo lighter.
Our Sitting Pretty Halo is made from human Remy hair and has been through a series of chemical processes to seal in the colour and smooth texture of the hair.
So applying bleach to Remy hair is a big no, and can risk ruining the colour and texture of your halo.

Our halos have been made with a multi-strand colouring system.
For example, Beige Blonde isn't just wefts of one beige blonde colour.
It's a combination of subtle variations of beige blonde wefts.
We do this for two reasons.
1) So that the halo looks more natural and real, just like your own hair. Because naturally, not every strand of hair on our head is identical in colour.
2) So that the one halo can match a range of blonde or brunette heads.
The multi-strand colouring system makes our halos more versatile, which is why you're more likely to find a perfect blend from one of our 16 Sitting Pretty Halo colours.

So, you're scrolling through our Instagram and you've found a photo that looks exactly like your colour.
HOLD ON.
Before you go adding to cart, I strongly suggest cross-referencing your colour match to make sure it is 100% perfect for you.
After all, when your Sitting Pretty Halo arrives we want it to be a perfect match, true love, happily ever after, etc.
The last thing we want is for you to get your halo and realise it doesn't look exactly like that one photo you saw on Insta.
It's important to consider that photos of our Sitting Pretty Halos will be taken in various lighting, which makes the colour vary.
For example, sometimes our Light Brown 6 can look much darker in a photo taken indoors, and a lot warmer and lighter in natural light, as you can see below.
Left: the MEDIUM halo in col. Light Brown 6.
Right: the THICK halo in col. Light Brown 6.
Another instance is that the same colour can look completely different, depending on who's wearing it.
See below, both girls are wearing Beige Blonde + Dark Blonde 613/10, however on the left Holly's natural hair is more of a darker blonde with highlights, so when her hair sits on top of the halo it makes our Beige Blonde + Dark Blonde blend look darker than it actually is.
On the right is how the Beige Blonde + Dark Blonde 613/10 looks, true to colour.

The best way to ensure you've chosen the right colour is by messaging us on Facebook, Instagram or email at hello@sittingprettyhalohair.com.
Send us a couple of photos of your hair that look most true to your hair colour.
Take the photos in natural light (but not direct sunlight) to most accurately capture the colour of your hair.
Also make sure the photo includes the ends of your hair, because as you already know this is the most important part for us to colour match correctly.
We also like to know what your hair goals are when you get in touch so that we can recommend the right halo thickness for your hair too.
i.e are you after more volume? Or volume and a little more length? Or a whole lot of extra volume and length?
Once we have all this information, our team of experts will tell you exactly which Sitting Pretty Halo will bring your hair dreams to reality.
Reference the photos on our website.
When you click on a halo colour on our website, you can also see examples of different girls wearing that halo colour.
This is so you can get to know the halo colour better, and see how it looks on different girls and in different lighting.
Once you've looked through those photos you'll have a better idea of what is true to colour, and your good hair days are only a click away.

ot that sun-kissed hair thanks to highlights?
No problem.
You can definitely still blend our Halo Hair extensions with highlights.
For best blending results:
Match your Halo to the lighter of the two colours.
Otherwise, if you have a lot of foils, you might find your perfect match with our two-toned Halo hair extensions.
Our two-toned Halo options are ideal if you have foils.

Alternatively, you can ask your hairdresser to add some lowlights into your Halo to emulate your natural hair.

It's generally pretty easy to match our Halo Hair extensions to balayage or ombre hair.
As you normally would:
Choose a Halo Hair colour that matches the ends of your hair.
If you think the top of your Halo extensions still needs to be a little darker...
Simply get your hairdresser to paint balayage onto your Halo's “roots”.
A lot of our balayage and ombre beauties do it this way.

Yes, you can.
We use natural, European 100% Remy Hair so it can be treated with colour.
Unfortunately, our Halos can't be bleached.
So aim for a colour most similar to your own.
Or when in doubt, go a shade lighter; so you can create lowlights, tone it or go a colour darker to better match your hair.
Keep in mind that the Halo must be wet (not washed with shampoo and conditioner) before applying any colour to help it slide on evenly.
You can use either with our Halos.
But some brands of blue and purple shampoo work better than others.
We recommend the brand Evo as a tried and tested safe option to tone your Halo.
Tip:
If you're going to use professional toners, make sure your Halo is wet (not washed) before applying.
This will help the toner glide on for a more even result.
Some professional toner brands work better than others, so do your research.
If you're unsure, you can always ask us.
