1. The perfect lip massage for fuller lips

Did you know that you can massage your way to fuller lips?

Sounds too good to be true but, facial massage is one of the best and most healthy ways to plump your pout.

So how do you get fuller lips with facial massage? EASY.

Kneading your mouth muscles daily will tone and strengthen them, causing them to grow, making your lips look larger.

Simply pinch your lips between your thumb and index finger, pulling them out to create the old school duck face.

Those of us from the Myspace generation should be pros.

Kneed the area, gently moving your fingers from the corners to the middle of your mouth.

Perform 30 reps every day to see results fast.

2. Overdraw

Overdrawing your lippy sounds scary at first, but with a bit of practice, you'll be rocking that envious, perfectly defined kisser in no time.

Here is how to overdraw your lips:

1. Learn your lip shape:

Just like our skin, hair and bodies, we all have different lip shapes.

This is why there is no one size fits all lip drawing technique.

So you'll need to figure out your lip shape and adapt these steps to suit.

For example, if you have a fuller lower lip, you'll want to focus your lines more on your Cupid's bow and vice versa.

2. Matchy Matchy:

This should go without saying but make sure your lip liner matches your lipstick.

Or is only one shade darker.

While learning, you might also want to stick to more subtle hues so you don't scare yourself.

3. Outside in:

Start by drawing the outer corners first.

This means fewer mistakes as you have more control over the shape.

Start the liner in the corner of your mouth and move it upwards, going just slightly above your natural lip line.

Stop before you reach the middle and fill in between the lines a little, so the line is thicker.

4. X marks the spot:

Draw an X over your Cupid's bow.

Make sure the points at the top are even and extend the X down on each side.

5. Fill it up:

Fill in the unconnected lines with a liner and do a light colour over your entire lip.

6. Coverup:

Apply your lipstick evenly and add a lip gloss for an extra boost.

3. Scrub

Scrubbing your lips not only rids them of dead and dry skin but it also temporally makes them fuller.

This skincare treatment sends more blood to your mouth, causing minimal swelling.

Which means a subtle lip plump.

Swelling might sound a little scary, but I assure you this is entirely painless.

In fact, your lips will be softer and smoother than ever after a good scrub-a-dub-dub.

So your lips will not only feel more kissable, but they will look it too.

4. Plumping products

Simple yet effective.

Plumping products are one the easiest ways to get fuller lips sans the injections.

You can get them over the counter. Just watch out for the ones with nasty chemicals and bee venom.

#savethebees.

Or you can DIY your very own lip plumping product with this simple recipe.

Ingredients:

  • 1 tbsp liquid coconut oil
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/4 tsp ground cayenne pepper

Method:

  1. Combine and mix ingredients thoroughly.
  2. Massage the mixture into your lips in a circular motion and leave for 5-10 minutes.
  3. Rinse with cool water and apply a soft lip balm.
  4. Enjoy instant results and repeat before parties or whenever you need a pout.

5. Bold colours

Fake it.

While I suggested nude tones for overdrawing your lips, bright and bold lipsticks, in general, create the illusion of larger lips.

They pull focus and help define your features.

So if you're after something simple yet effective, go for bright red or deep plum lippy.

6. Ombre Lips

Similarly to bright lip colours, ombre creates the illusion of fuller lips.

So, how to do ombre lips?

1. Choose your weapon

Choose your lipstick and liner.

Make sure the liner is a few shades darker than the lipstick.

2. Straight lines

Define your lips with the darker colour liner.

Fill your lips in slightly from the outer corners using the overdrawing technique above.

3. Pout and about

Fill the inner section of your lips in with the lighter lipstick.

Pull it out slightly to meet the liner.

4. Gloss it up

Add a clear lip gloss to blend any lines.

7. Lip tattoo

How to get fuller lips without filler?

Well, here is another permanent solution.

Lip tattoos are great alternative fillers.

They look more natural, and they're more cost-effective in the long run.

They're also seriously low maintenance!

So, how do lip tattoos work?

Just like brow tattoos, this procedure involves coloured pigment being inserted into your lips and the surrounding skin using a tattoo needle.

Think of it like permanently overdrawn lips.

The downside is, this can be painful, prone to infection and costly upfront.

But I think the long term lush lips outweigh the potential problems.
