Growing your hair? Tired of waiting to get to where you want to be? 🤔 You're not alone.

So many of our clients come to us with the same issue. That's why we decided to give you the lowdown on five natural tips for rapid hair growth.

These won't take long. Draft them into your everyday routine and away you go.

1. Rehydrate with Warm Lemon Water 🍋

When we were kids, we learned about the difference between want and need. Sure, we need to eat breakfast in the morning, but we don't need three scoops of ice cream after lunch, no matter how tempting it looks.

Well, water is something we certainly do need. Without proper hydration, our bodies simply cannot function. And this includes hair growth 🤓

If you want to grow your hair, you need to make sure you are not one of the two thirds of Australians who do not get enough daily water intake.

Every morning, gently warm a tall glass of water and squeeze in a few drops of lemon juice.

Not only will this give you the perfect start to your daily hydration, but the lemon juice will help to detoxify your insides, leaving your body primed for hair growth 👍🏼

Just don't forget to keep on drinking water throughout the day!

2. Use a Homemade Hair Serum

Hair growth goals can't be achieved unless your scalp is prepped. For this, simply mix tea tree oil with warm water to create a luxurious serum.

Next, massage the serum into the scalp 💆🏼 Aim for an even spread across your whole head and work deeply into the hair. Giving yourself a head massage always feels good, but this technique also benefits hair growth in the long term.

Leave the serum to settle in your hair and scalp for five to ten minutes before washing. This gives the serum time to work its magic and detoxify your scalp, giving you the perfect base for serious hair growth.

We know that not everyone is a morning person. If you wash your hair at night, simply switch this point over to the evening.

3. Lightly Pull at the Hair

Like many of us, hair often needs a bit of encouragement before it does what we want it to. By pulling the hair a little, you can train it to grow more quickly.

Move methodically through your hair, starting at the front and taking hold of small clumps between your fingers.

Pull lightly several times and then move backwards across the scalp. Be careful not to miss any areas of your hair to ensure even coverage all over.

Remember that the operative word here is 'lightly'. Use this as a rule of thumb: if it's hurting you, you're not doing it right. Also, be sure not to accidentally pull any hair out in the process.

We are talking about encouraging your hair, not challenging it to see how much punishment it can take.

4. Use Herbal Supplements

Unlocking the secret to quick, natural hair growth can be as straightforward as selecting the right herbal supplement. There are many types of herbal supplement available, and most are safe for almost anyone to consume 👩🏻‍⚕️

However, it is always important to consult your doctor before using a herbal supplement. While these supplements are not dangerous on their own, they can interact with medicines and other health products to create side effects which can be pretty nasty.

👉🏼 If in doubt, seek advice. 👈🏼

Read on to learn more about some of the top supplements for hair growth.

Saw palmetto

Saw palmetto has been linked to a reduction of levels of the 5-alpha-reductase enzyme within the body. It is this enzyme which can produce DHT; a severe hair growth inhibitor.

Taking a saw palmetto supplement is almost always safe, but is not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women, or for minors. Side effects sometimes include mild headaches and stomach irritation, so consult your doctor if this occurs.

Zinc or Iron

Not getting enough zinc in your diet can make it difficult for you to hit your hair growth targets. Consider taking a zinc or iron supplement to keep you on track to hair happiness.

Very few people experience any negative effects from simple mineral supplements like zinc or iron. Don't forget to get in touch with your doctor and stop taking the supplement immediately if you experience anything unusual.

Hair ReVive (I'm using this right now)

Many naturopaths recommend the Hair ReVive supplement. Featuring B complex vitamins and a range of Chinese herbal remedies, Hair ReVive has been linked to the promotion of healthy hair growth and lovely, lustrous locks. Who could ask for more?

Hair ReVive contains only natural ingredients, but it is still recommended to stay aware of your condition whenever you take this supplement. Remember our advice; if in doubt, seek advice.

5. Enjoy the Benefits of Hemp Oil

The scientifically proven benefits of Hemp oil for health are many, to say the least. But more recently the link between the consumption of Hemp oil and hair growth is so strong that we should all be trying it!

It's simple, get yourself a bottle of Hemp oil (available in most health shops since it's regarded a health product). Then eat a spoonful of the oil daily, ideally in the morning.

Aside from the long list of health benefits, Hemp oil has been proven to;

  • Help your hair and scalp retain water during dry seasons.
  • Strengthen the follicles and promotes the growth of strong hair strands to stand the test of time.
  • Improve blood circulation of your scalp which promotes hair growth.
  • Contains high levels of Omega 3, 6 and 9, all of which are necessary building blocks for hair growth.

This is cutting edge by the way. In Australia Hemp has only recently become legalised for consumption so it's a good time to get on this wave 🌊

Hemp oil is something we love, and it is quite the miracle formula. It works to promote hair growth and to strengthen hair and prevent breakage. It also acts as a moisturiser, giving you a super healthy scalp in the process.

Bonus tips:

For all you overachievers, here are two bonus tips for taking this to the next level 🥇

a. Massaging a small amount of hemp oil into your hair and scalp can do wonders for follicle growth. Squeeze a few drops of hemp oil into your hands and then run them through your hair. The oil should be absorbed into the hair and skin and should not leave any oily residue or mess. Give it some time.

b. Mix hemp powder in with your morning smoothie.  Hemp contains a high amount of bio-available protein (meaning your body can absorb it easily, unlike most proteins from protein powders, weight-loss formulas and animal products). And your hair is made of keratin of which 90% is protein. So... get some hemp powder 💪🏼

A daily combination of these simple tips will put you on the direct track to fast growing, healthy hair. Just to recap: we recommend rehydrating with lemon water, treating your scalp with a tea tree oil serum, engaging in some gentle hair pulling, taking a herbal supplement, and enjoying the natural benefits of hemp oil.

It's time to get started. Happy hair growing!
