The Highlights:
  • Picking your hair extensions colour is vital in making it blend with your own hair and look natural.
  • Match your hair extensions to the ends of your hair for the best match, since this is the part of your hair that needs to blend with your hair extensions.
  • If you have highlights, then simply match your hair extensions to the lighter of the two colours.
  • If you need to colour your hair extensions, only go darker, and avoid bleach since this will damage most hair extensions.

What colour hair extensions should I get?

Picking your hair extensions colour is everything. The perfect colour match is your key to amazing hair that looks natural...

While the wrong colour choice won't be fooling anyone. Picking your perfect hair colour can be tough, if you don't know what to look for.

At Sitting Pretty we like things to be easy and effortless. It's why I'm about to make picking your hair extensions colour a whole lot easier...

How To Match Hair Extensions To Your Hair Colour

The best thing you can do to find your perfect colour match is match your Halo Hair extensions to the ends of your hair.

Why?

Because the hair extensions will only be visible at the ends of your hair, where you are adding more length and volume.

Note: With Sitting Pretty Halo Hair extensions it won't be noticeable if your hair is a shade or two different to your Halo extensions.

Not all hair extensions are like this.

But, our Sitting Pretty Halo Hair extensions are designed with a multi-strand colouring system.

This makes it way easier to match to your natural hair colour.

Once your Halo Hair is sitting underneath your own hair, cut and styled, you'll find the Halo will blend seamlessly with your natural hair.

How To Match Hair Extensions With Highlights

Got that sun-kissed hair thanks to highlights? No problem.

You can definitely still blend our Halo Hair extensions with highlights.

For best blending results, match your Halo to the lighter of the two colours.

Otherwise, if you have a lot of foils, you might find your perfect match with our two-toned Halo hair extensions.

Our two-toned Halo options are ideal if you have foils.

Alternatively, you can ask your hairdresser to add some lowlights into your Halo to emulate your natural hair. ;)

How To Match Hair Extensions With Balayage

-->

It's generally pretty easy to match our Halo Hair extensions to balayage or ombre hair.

As you normally would: choose a Halo Hair colour that matches the ends of your hair.

If you think the top of your Halo extensions still needs to be a little darker; simply get your hairdresser to paint balayage onto your Halo’s “roots”.

A lot of our balayage and ombre beauties do it this way.

Can You Colour Your Halo Hair?

Yes, you can. We use natural, 100% ProGrade Remy Hair so it can be treated with colour.

Unfortunately, our Halos can’t be bleached. So aim for a colour most similar to your own.

Or when in doubt, go a shade lighter; so you can create lowlights, tone it or go a colour darker to better match your hair.

Keep in mind that the Halo must be wet (not washed with shampoo and conditioner) before applying any colour to help it slide on evenly.

Can You Use Blue / Purple Shampoo / Toner On Halo Hair Extensions?

You can use either with our Halos.

But some brands of blue and purple shampoo work better than others.

We recommend the brand Evo as a tried and tested safe option to tone your Halo.

Some professional toner brands work better than others, so do your research.

If you’re unsure, you can always ask us.

We’re just one Sitting Pretty email away. 😘

Tip: If you’re going to use professional toners, make sure your Halo is wet (not washed) before applying. This will help the toner glide on for a more even result.
