You may not have heard about blowout bars, but I’ll bet you’ve noticed how popular swoopy, voluminous blowout hairstyles have gotten. While wind machine ready hair isn’t exactly a new thing, the hacks, tools, and even the salons that can help you reach new heights are certainly making it easier (and healthier).
Blowouts bars specialize in washing and styling your hair with no cuts or colouring involved. Before styling, you’ll get a shampoo, deep condition, and whatever fortifying treatments that you’d like to add (like Olaplex), prepping you to go longer without washing your hair. Normally, you’ll be styled with super high-end salon brands that you might not normally use at home which is also a major win for scalp care.
So what was once reserved for special events, getting your hair blown out for the week is seriously vying for our favourite self care activity.
While we can’t account for every city everywhere, blowout bars and specialty blow dry services can be found in most major cities, with some chains that have over 100 locations*. If you’re a bit far out from these amazing blowouts bars, take a look at your regular hair salon’s service list, a blowout could be on there!

The BLOW Australia
Making Rich Girl Hair a thing, The BLOW is the fastest route to a personal glam team sans fame. And with a mission to maximize your you-time, The BLOW will get you in, out, and on your way to hair flipping faster than your hairdresser. With brands like R+Co, Slip, and Dyson (not to mention a partnership with Vogue Australia) you can trust they know a thing or two about high-quality hair.
You can go in for a full wash and blowout or snag a quick style on dry hair if you’re strapped for time, but for the full BLOW experience, go with the girls and have a lush time taking in the Instagrammable decor at their Little Collins flagship location. Their other location services Sephora Chadstone.
The Blowout Bar
An easy one to remember, The Blowout Bar is one of Melbourne’s most loved salons with over a decade of blowout and styling experience. Ideal for both your weekly blowout and I-Do Crew styling, The Blowout Bar is set up as a luxe, chill-for-a-couple-hours salon with an artisanal, locally-sourced bar menu to get lost in (with non-alcoholic options too, of course).
They can add on keratin treatments for your blowout service for an added smooth touch. Plus, unlike other blowout bars you can also get a colour refresh here too! Join them in one of their two Melbourne locations: Toorak and South Yarra.

Blow Bar Co.
An OG in NSW, Blow Bar Co. is all about applying the VIP treatment to your everyday life. Complete with billowy blowouts, makeup application, and an extensive cocktail and tea menu, this blowout bar is much more than a salon.
Founded on female empowerment and a community-creating concept, this blowout bar goes beyond beauty treatments and has created a photography and videography service listing all in-bar! You can get your hair done, then make sure it’s all captured on camera for online content, professional headshots, or some other someone-has-to-see-this-hair type reason.
Visit them at any of their four locations or tune into their podcast, Wine Time with Leigh Dole, which is recorded in-bar too! Seriously, they do it all.
Blo Blow Dry Bar
With their instantly recognizable pink, Blo Blow Dry Bar has been one of the longest leading blowout bars in North America. Originally from Canada, they have over 100 locations throughout the US and Canada, providing blowouts, bridal and wedding party styling, makeup, and waxing services.
You’ll be able to choose from dozens of blowout hairstyles on their menu that range from pin-straight to the bounciest curl of your life–all with great volume and smoothed tresses of course. They carry brands like UNITE, ColorWow, and MyKitsch hair accessories. Not to mention, a little someone named Gwenyth Paltrow loves Blo Blow Dry Bar and we think that’s a good enough review for us.
Another multi-location blowout bar, Drybar is the cool metropolitan studio that has a lot to offer in and out of the chair. Easy to find with over 90 locations across US and Canada, you’ll be able to choose and customise any of their 10 signature blowout hairstyles like Mai Tai or The Manhattan—all sweetly inspired by their cocktail counterparts.
Even if you can’t make it in for a signature blowout hairstyle, you can buy all of Drybar’s haircare line and tools at Sephora (prepare yourself, there’s tons of good stuff). Or if you’re a serious DIY’er, their Youtube has tons of tutorials on how to get their blowout looks at home. We’ll take the in-bar mimosas and add-on head massages TBH.

Leave it to London to have a ton of blowout bars, all with their own unique experience. One overachiever in the blowout category is Hersheson’s. They’ve got three locations throughout London that cater to more than just a good blow dry; services at their flagships include manicures, facials, brow care, and of course a dozen blowout hairstyles to choose from.
If you’re just in the mood for a style and go, they have a smaller blow dry bar located in Selfridges (at Oxford Circus). But trust us, you could spend a day in their full-on salons—literally, as it also offers itself as a co-working space and cafe. Told you it was an overachiever!
